This was my favourite game in the Robot Party Jam! Really lovely work, beautiful pre-rendered style. I'm suddenly filled with an urge to play more games like this! What were your main influences? Any recommendations? Hope to see more stuff from you guys in the future!

Thanks! Very happy you enjoyed the experience! The main influences for this game were Myst and Riven. Both have, in my opinion, this unique, slightly eery, atmosphere. Obduction also scratches that itch for me, albeit with more modern graphics. I also enjoyed Syberia, which is not quite as eery, but also a great game. Another one that stuck with me, altough I just watched a Youtube video about it and never played it myself, is "The Book of Watermarks" for the PS1 - it also gives these vibes.

Other, more recent, games that I enjoyed, which may have some kind of similarity with this type of game are: The Thalos Principle 1+2 (much more modern graphics, but I also enjoyed the sense of mystery there, especially the first part), That Which Gave Chase (which also has an interesting retro look, altough not pre-rendered) and Scanner Sombre (with an interesting graphics style which creates an unique atmosphere). "The Witness" is also a great game in my opinion, which is kinda related to this type of game.

I also asked Daniel about this and he recommends "The Traitor's Gate" and "The X-Files: The Game" :)

Thanks so much recommendations, really kind of you guys. :)

I've never actually played Myst so maybe I should just go straight to the source! When it comes down to it it's that atmosphere you described that I'm really chasing. The Book of Watermarks looks like a perfect example of that too - I'd never come across that before, that's a real gem.

I've played Thalos and he Witness and they definitely have the same sort of feel to them, that kind of dreamlike world outside of space and time. Loved Scanner Sombre's lidar aesthetic but it scared me too much!

Definitely checking out That Which Gave Chase and The Traitor's Gate, they look great.

After I sent you that message I played an interesting game called Fatum Betula that definitely scratches the atmospheric itch…doesn't have the beautiful pre-rendered look that you guys used though.

Thanks again!

Yes, I definitely recommend checking out Myst and the follow-ups! Fatum Betula looks pretty cool, I have added it to my list of games to check out, looks very interesting :)

Cool game!!
